To one end of the road then the other, eyes trail along the same path that the stranger’s taking with his gaze and Lee can tell that this guy’s come to a similar conclusion. Escaping this parade looks like a lost cause for the time being — so in the meantime, a bit of small talk won’t hurt. In particular, the comment about flying earns a genuine chuckle.
“Right? Heck, I wouldn’t even care if I had to wear fairy wings to get over these people.” A pause ensues, followed by a creasing of brows ( an expression implying that Lee’s actually taking a moment to consider the idea ). “Actually, that’d be pretty cool on its own. ‘Fair-lee Man’ — as a superhero name, that has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?”
( 勝雄 ) Katsuo blinked at the name given. “Fair-…lee?” Was that some sort of pun? On what? “Uh, yeah, it sounds good.” His tone came out, at best, distracted, as he’d turned his attention to guessing the distance between the rooftops. Maybe flying was out of the question, but with enough of a running start, he could probably jump and make it. At the very least, he could do so with nothing on him, but hopefully the parade would be over by the time he finished shopping.
“Hey, that’s about fifteen feet, right?” He held up a hand to point at the smallest gap between buildings. The stone overhang on one looked stable enough, and a larger distance would be too risky to try. Maybe someone more rational would tell him that trying at all would be too risky, but he could handle it. The real question was getting up to the top.
eyes blinked behind useless thick lenses as he looked at the stranger in front of him, wondering what she might want from him. He had already recognized her as other, and he supposed she had done the same with him, but still the question ran over and over again in his mind till he finally voiced it out: “Do you need my help?” He doubted so. He was not the best of their species in that city.
( 亮子 ) The blond hadn’t meant to stay so long in the city, but as it were, things always got a bit screwed up. She regarded the stranger with narrowed eyes and a slight tilt of her head. “Your help? Are you offering?” Sure, she could use something. Since she didn’t like feeding willy-nilly, her main source of nourishment became her brother; of course, they hadn’t seen each other in a while. “If you could spare some blood, that’d be great.”
|| 雪 || :: The nine-tailed was just spending her time watching him work. It was quite fascinating, him using his skills and magic to forge something so powerful. It was a time like this she could see he wasn’t anything ordinary. That he held the surging energy within him, bringing the best out of his creation and merging that strong aura of power to the USER of his weapon. It become a habit. And before she knew it, the fox spirit just nodded off on the sofa of his shop when he was writing something at the table. The touch of his hand, coming along with the words drifted to her ears beckoned for her attention. Long lashes ascended to reveal amethyst hues, certainly hearing EVERY word he just uttered. Was he meant for her to hear, she wondered.
“…You’re such a weird human..” It wasn’t the first time she remarked this, nor it would be the last time. However, the way her delicate limbs and digits squeezed his sturdier hand spoke of that HIDDEN feeling she didn’t allow anyone else to see. Anyone else but him. The way violet orbs looked up at him held significant emotion just as strongly. She understoodwhat he tried to say, what he wanted to convey, that was, perhaps, why she always thought he was a weird one. He was a human, after all, why care so much for a stray like her?
But, in a way, maybe she was a weird one too. For still coming over to see him. For wanting to be around him more.
Her hand pulled his to her expression, placing his palm to her cheek and nuzzled softly there to his rough skin. A SILENT exhale escaped, as her eyes closed and voice barely could be heard. It was barely a whisper, almost inaudible, tinged with another hidden meaning.
"Hey Yuki." With a nervous smile and slight blush, Katsuo greeted the fox. "Do you want to, uh, g-go get some coffee? Because I, um.." Trailing off, he glanced down at the writing on his hand, smudged by the sweat of his palm. "I, er, like you a-a latte...?"
|| 雪 || :: “Hnn? Coffee?” Why was he looking nervous? This was quite rare for the usually casual and easy-going blacksmith as she didn’t see him getting flustered all that much. Head tilted to the side and curiosity painted her gaze that landed upon him in a stare. The nine-tailed didn’t mean to be staring, of course, but she was trying to figure out what could be the reason for his show of nervousness. Or was he anxious?
“Sure? I’d love to. Though…” There was a pause as she took a step closer to him, a finger tapping lightly on his nose to snap him to reality and stop staring at his hand. What was he doing? “Did you say you like me or latte? Or… are you trying to make a joke?” This one didn’t get it if it was the last one, for sure. Human’s sense of humor had never registered with her.
Cyar’s first intent, upon being greeted by a stranger, was to snap at him. How dare he just come forward and say hi? People were so annoying. But now, as he watched the paper pieces drift to the ground like flaming snowflakes, he had to look at the other more closely.
“How the heck did ya do that?” Cyar leaned to the side, trying to see if the guy had a lighter in his hands.
( 亮子 ) That had been the easiest trick she’d figured out how to do. “Do you want to see something even cooler?” The only way to go was up, of course, so she took out a few more slips of paper and started the same way–and a good thing they were in an empty park because she changed her focus and at the snap of her fingers, this set exploded. Paper bombs! The blasts sent gusts of air and smoke around the two, albeit they weren’t close enough to cause any harm. “Neat, huh?”
Ryoko’s always wanted to be able to use her brother’s power, and she’s always been fascinated with the concept. Growing up, she couldn’t help but envy him for his skill (it faded after their uncle died though). Whereas Katsuo only uses it for serious things, she’d totally use it as a way to intimidate people or freak them out.
