Cyar’s first intent, upon being greeted by a stranger, was to snap at him. How dare he just come forward and say hi? People were so annoying. But now, as he watched the paper pieces drift to the ground like flaming snowflakes, he had to look at the other more closely.
“How the heck did ya do that?” Cyar leaned to the side, trying to see if the guy had a lighter in his hands.
( 亮子 ) That had been the easiest trick she’d figured out how to do. “Do you want to see something even cooler?” The only way to go was up, of course, so she took out a few more slips of paper and started the same way–and a good thing they were in an empty park because she changed her focus and at the snap of her fingers, this set exploded. Paper bombs! The blasts sent gusts of air and smoke around the two, albeit they weren’t close enough to cause any harm. “Neat, huh?”

“Hey kid, wanna see a magic trick?” Spotting Cyar had been good luck, and Ryoko didn’t give him time to reply before pulling out several strips of enchantment paper and tossing them like confetti. With a snap of her fingers, they lit up in flames and were reduced to ash as they floated to the ground. “Tada!”
