He's late, of course--he had to help clean up the Shrine after the celebrations, and he'd had other company to entertain as well--but he saved Raizel a piece of chocolate cake, so he hoped that counted for something. "Happy New Year, Rai!"

     Her eyes quickly sparked at the slice of cake given to her. ”Aw, is this really for me? Thank you!! I would give you something too for the New Year but I don’t think you’d like shot glasses. Oh! How about your first hug for the New Year?” She didn’t really wait for a response and decided to hop over and hug him anyways. 

( huh? ):

       “You’ve been home? Oh no, don’t tell me you became a couch potato. We should definitely go out more just to fix that!”   

( 勝雄 ) “Couch potato…? Er, no, I work at home. My little sisters have been sick too, so I’ve been helping with taking care of them.” 

( buddy. ):

       “What do ya mean ‘how have I been’? I’ve been lonely without you Katsuo! How could you leave me for so long?!”      

( 勝雄 ) Katsuo blinked at the accusation, hoping that the other was just being dramatic and didn’t actually mean it. “Ah, I’ve just been home, mostly. I missed you too though.”

( buddy. ):

“KATSUO! MY BUDDY HAS COME BACK TO ME.” 

( 勝雄 ) “Oh, hey Raizel,” the blacksmith greeted, caught off guard by the shouting but used to the voice it came from. “How have you been?”
